Danny Rowe is back at Wycombe Wanderers after agreeing a loan deal from Rotherham United – and he’s bringing a team-mate with him.
18-year-old Rowe and 19-year-old winger Nicky Walker have penned terms at Adams Park until November 2nd, bringing Gareth Ainsworth’s summer acquisitions to nine ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.
Walker was reportedly being scouted by three Premier League sides in December 2012 after making his senior debut for the Millers, having scored 20 goals in pre-season alone for their youth team, and spent time on loan at Barrow during the early part of last season.
Meanwhile Rowe needs little introduction to Blues fans, having excelled in defence and midfield during his seven-game loan spell last season, and playing a pivotal role in the successful fight for survival.
Ainsworth said: “Danny really impressed us last season – he may have been a bit of an unknown quantity when he joined but by the time he left, he was attracting attention from a lot of people.
“He’s got a lot of talent, he can play in a multitude of positions and that will be important for us this season with a smaller squad.”
Speaking of Walker, Ainsworth commented: “Nicky is an exciting attacking player with electric pace and he likes to get at defenders.
“He’s got a goal in him as well and I know he’s looking forward to getting stuck in at league level.”
Ainsworth added: “For us to secure two players from a Championship club is great and I hope we can play a big part in their careers going forward. I’d like to thank Rotherham for agreeing to send them on loan to us and we welcome them with open arms.”
