Report: Wealdstone 1-2 Wycombe

29 July 2014

Wanderers produced a strong second-half display to overcome Conference South side Wealdstone on Tuesday night.

After a goalless first half, in which young keeper Charlie Horlock made three fine saves and Steven Craig hit a post, Blues increased the tempo in the second period and earned their rewards for a high-energy display.

Matt McClure nodded home from close range soon after the interval from Tommy Fletcher's knock-back, and although Nikki Ahmed levelled from a tight angle towards the end of the match, Sam Wood clinched victory with a right-footed effort with two minutes left on the clock.

Wycombe: Horlock, Driver* (Jombati 60), Dhillon* (Wood 60), Murphy (Pierre 60), Fletcher (Doherty 60), Ainsworth (McClure 45), Lewis (Evans 20), Bloomfield, Kretzschmar (Scowen 60), Morias, Craig.
