Left-back Jordan Mustoe has joined the club from Championship side Wigan Athletic on an initial one-month loan.
Jordan will wear the number 28 shirt.
Ainsworth added: “We’re still working on strengthening the squad so we’ll see what else we can do.”
“We haven’t got the biggest budget to work with which we understand, so it’s great to be able to call upon our close contacts at Wigan. We appreciate their and Uwe Rosler’s help.”
Gareth Ainsworth told wwfc.com: “Jordan is a player that will definitely add to the squad. He’s athletic, strong in the tackle, got a great left foot and a first-class delivery. He's a natural defender.
“I’ll give my all in every game and I’ll work hard in training. I’ll do my defensive duties first and then anything going forward is a bonus.”
“I can’t wait to get going,” he told Chairboys Player. “I’m really looking forward to playing games and I’m eager to get back into it.
He is already accustomed to the surroundings of Adams Park, having appeared against the Blues for Morecambe during the 2012/13 season and Bury in the current campaign.
Mustoe has played four times in the Lactics’ first team, as well as making over 40 appearances on loan at Barnet, Morecambe, Carlisle United and Bury.
The 22-year-old trained with his new team-mates on Friday and is eligible for the clash with local rivals Oxford United at the weekend.
