Centre-back Leon Johnson has thanked the Blues fans for their backing on Saturday.
“We are more than capable of going there and getting three points. We’ll show the same spirit today and hopefully it’ll be enough.”
Johnson & co take on Mansfield on Saturday and the club’s current second longest-serving player is ready for the challenge.
“Everyone put their bodies on the line and worked hard. We kept our shape well and it’s taken a wonder-strike to beat us, but we’ve got to take the positives. You can’t ask for anymore in terms of effort.”
He added: “We were down to 10 men for a long time and the lads showed great character once again. If we take that into our next game and the remaining games, we’ll climb the table.
“We dug deep for them, it’s just a shame we didn’t get a point for them. We’ll go again next week.”
“The fans were brilliant, they got right behind us,” Johnson said. “They cheered us when we came off and we really appreciate that.
The home fans were in fine voice for the visit of Oxford United, supporting their team ferociously throughout the game before clapping the Chairboys off at the final whistle, despite the 1-0 defeat.
