Midfielder Max Kretzschmar has signed a new contract which will keep him at Adams Park until the summer of 2016.
An interview with Max will be available to view on Chairboys Player very shortly.
“I’m really, really pleased for him. A youngster of his ability is going to start attracting interest so I wanted to tie him up and Max is definitely one for the future here. His attitude is spot on too.”
“He’s got great technique and he’s come on and scored goals for us this season – I think he’s surpassed any dreams he had at the start of the season.
Chairboys chief Gareth Ainsworth told wwfc.com: “Max was always going to be a patient one. His physicality was behind the other lads a little, but you look at the modern game now and you don’t have to be a big brute.
“As a young player, it’s important to get games under your belt. The best thing for my development is to stay here and keep giving my all for Wycombe.”
“I’m delighted,” Kretzschmar told Chairboys Player. “I joined at 14 and I’ve grown up with Wycombe Wanderers which has been a big part of my life.
The 20-year-old’s contribution doesn’t stop there though as he is second only to Josh Scowen for assists, having created three goals for his team-mates.
Two of his strikes came in a memorable 2-1 away success against Hartlepool United, while he was also the match-winner in the Blues’ 1-0 win at Bristol Rovers.
One of the club’s brightest prospects, Kretzschmar has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign with the Chairboys, making 26 appearances and scoring three goals.
