Two stages of 12 injections of calves blood extract have seen Steven Craig return to training a month earlier than expected. He added: "It's the perfect start to 2014 - I just can't wait to get going again."
"My thanks must also go to the Partick Thistle physio Kenny Crichton for arranging my treatments and Derek McCormack for doing the injections."
Craig told wwfc.com: "Firstly I'd like to thank Gaz (Ainsworth) and Theo (Farley) for letting me go back home to get my treatment.
He has since received the all-clear following a scan and resumed full training with a view to being involved in match action again soon, possibly even in Saturday's clash with AFC Wimbledon at the weekend.
However, Craig flew to his native Scotland for the treatments just before Christmas, which significantly boosted his recovery due to calves blood being rich in protein.
The 32-year-old was initially ruled out for six weeks after tearing a muscle in his thigh during the 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe United on Saturday 14th December.
