Max Kretzschmar says Wanderers need to use their recent performances against promotion-chasing Fleetwood Town and Chesterfield as a springboard to move up the table.
Blues, who make the long trip down to Exeter this evening (Tuesday), more than matched Fleetwood before drawing 1-1, and then followed that up with an excellent 1-0 win over the Spireites last Saturday.
“We had a bad period, but that’s all gone now,” said Kretzschmar.
“We have to take it one game at a time and we want to get up the league, and this shows that we’re good enough. We’ve got to keep working hard and hopefully we can finish as high as possible.
“Everyone is behind Gaz and you can see that maybe we’ve adapted our style of play against the better teams. Fleetwood and Chesterfield play quite good football, we matched them in both games and probably should have taken six points, but we still took four.
“We can mix it with the best teams in this league and we want to get on a run now.”
Kretzschmar added: “It’s good that the games are coming quickly, we want to keep the good vibes going. Tuesday is Exeter away and again there is no pressure on us. There was no pressure against Chesterfield as they’re top of the league and no-one expected us to win.
“Against Chesterfield and Fleetwood we matched them physically, in the 50/50 battles and in the one-on-one battles.
“We’ve also passed the ball well in these last two games - hopefully we can now take that into future games.”
