Gareth Ainsworth says the Wanderers faithful have a huge role to play on Saturday when Accrington Stanley visit Adams Park for one of the Blues’ biggest games of the season so far.
Prices have been reduced to entice more fans to the match and Ainsworth believes loud backing from the stands can drive his team on to an important three points.
“There are going to be worries and nerves, but you do feel that on the pitch,” Blues’ boss told Chairboys Player.
“As a player, I felt it and if the crowd are nervous then you feel a little bit nervous, and that touch might not be as good or that shot might not be right.
“If the crowd are positive and behind you then you believe you can do anything on the pitch. My message to the fans is please get behind us in a positive way. Really get behind us and let’s drive this home together.
“I’ll give my absolute best and I know that I’ve got a group of players that will as well. We need you this weekend, it’s a big game and we want to win it.
“I’m sure every Wycombe Wanderers fan will take a 94
-minute 1-0 win and there may be times when patience is needed, so we need the fans to be with us the whole game.”
