Here we go: The big preview

7 February 2014

Blues are back at home on Saturday when Accrington Stanley visit Adams Park for what could prove to be a crucial game in Sky Bet League 2.

A victory would lift the Wanderers above their opponents, but Stanley are in good form, having won their last two games – both of which were on their travels.

Gareth Ainsworth – talking to Chairboys Player

“They’re a 4-4-2 and they’ve got Odejayi up front, who they go to a lot and pick up the second balls from.

“Murphy is a threat from midfield and they’re on a high because they’ve had some good results. It took James Beattie maybe 12, 13 games at the start of the season for his first win, but once they got it they kicked on.

“Once we get a win, we can kick on as well. I know what they are, but more importantly we know what we can do.”

Assistant manager Paul Stephenson – talking to Accrington’s official website

“Wycombe are a dogged side who have got threats in their team and we know that like the rest of the teams in this division they are capable of getting results against anyone.

“For that reason you need to know about your opposition’s strengths and weaknesses but you need to focus on yourselves and that’s what we’ve been doing; focusing on our strengths and how we can affect them.”

Team news

Ainsworth has been boosted by the return to training of forwards Dean Morgan and Jon-Paul Pittman. Fellow striker Steven Craig is available again after serving a three-game suspension.

Stanley boss James Beattie has no new injury concerns ahead of the game and could field an unchanged side.
