Blooms confident ahead of Spireites

19 February 2014

Matt Bloomfield says there is no reason why the Wanderers can’t turn the form-book on its head and secure a win against leaders Chesterfield on Saturday (k.o 3pm).

The Spireites booked their place in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final on Tuesday after seeing off League 2 promotion rivals Fleetwood Town 3-2 on aggregate, however, Bloomfield says confidence is building within the Chairboys squad following their draw with the same opponents last time out.

“It’s going to be a tough game, that’s the way it is in this league,” he told Chairboys Player.

“If we are going to pick up points then we need to perform against the big teams and the people around us.

“It’s an opportunity for us to pick up three points. Yes, it will be a tough game, but we’ve got some quality in our squad and with a full week behind us there’s no reason why we can’t put on a performance for our fans.

“Hopefully we can put in a good performance, score some goals and give our fans something to cheer about.

“I think we’ve looked quite solid in the past couple of games and we’ll be looking to take that forward.”

Tickets for the visit of the Spireites are priced from just £5 for juniors, £9 for young adults, £11 for seniors and £15 for adults. U7s can enjoy this and all league fixtures for FREE.

A family of four (two adults and two juniors) can watch the game for just £25,while season-ticket holders will be provided with an extra £5 guest ticket, which if redeemed will see them receive 500 TeamCard points (equivalent of £5) to spend on merchandise or their 2014/15 season ticket.

That’s not the only entertainment at Adams Park on Saturday as Bloomfield kicks off his testimonial year with a special fans’ night in the Vere Suite.
