The Big Match Preview - Carlisle

15 August 2014

Saturday's visit of Carlisle United marks the first step on the road to making Adams Park a happy home for the Blues (k.o. 3pm).

Changes on and off the pitch over the summer have given Gareth Ainsworth and his squad reason to believe that they can put the tribulations of last season behind them and give Wanderers fans plenty to cheer about, with the meeting with the Cumbrians representing the first chance to show what they can do.

News of a victory at Newport on day one before a valiant cup exit at Millwall on Tuesday should give the people of High Wycombe the encouragement to see what the new-look Chairboys have to offer, while United arrive looking to put back-to-back defeats behind them and show the kind of form which will be required to return to League 1 at the first attempt.

Season ticket holders will be able to gain access as usual by having their cards scanned at the turnstiles, while fans who selected to print their tickets at home will also be able to enter the stadium this way. Any fans who experience difficulty should visit the Information Centre for assistance.

Tickets will be available to purchase on arrival at the stadium - prices start at £15 for adults, £5 for juniors and all under 7s go free.

Click here to buy in advance via our online portal, or call 01494 441118 or visit the Information Centre at Adams Park during normal office hours.

Following the success of a trial period at the end of last season, Arriva will continue to run a bus service to matches as follows:

Saturday service (for 3pm kick-offs):
Wycombe Railway Station – 13.05 and 14.05
Eden Bus Station – 13.15 and 14.15
Cressex Park & Ride – 13.25 and 14.25
Adams Park – 13.35 and 14.35

Midweek service (for 7.45pm kick-offs):
Wycombe Railway Station – 17.50 and 18.50
Eden Bus Station – 18.00 and 19.00
Cressex Park & Ride – 18.10 and 19.10
Adams Park – 18.20 and 19.20

Return journeys leave Adams Park at 17.10 on Saturdays and 21.45 for midweek fixtures. There will be a standard fare of £2 single or £3 return irrespective of where passengers join or leave the service. Under 16s and concessionary bus pass holders travel free of charge.

A new design of the matchday programme, 'Quarters' will be on show for the first time, featuring a special interview with goalkeeper Matt Ingram, a lowdown of the summer signings, the thoughts of Gareth Ainsworth and Matt Bloomfield and much more, including contributions from Steve Wilson and Adrian Wood.

Pick up your copy from the usual outlets around the ground for £3.

Wanderers will be wearing their brand new kit, sponsored by Beechdean, which was seen for the first time at Newport last Saturday. Every effort is being made to ensure that replica shirts will be available to purchase before the game, although it is out of the club's immediate control.

Food and drink
Saturday marks the opening of the new 'Coffee House' at Adams Park, situated within the club shop, which opens at midday with a selection of drinks and snacks.

Meanwhile, a new offering of Phat Pies and Pasties and Chicago Town pizzas will be served from the Vere Suite, which is open to all at no charge, as per last season.

Can't make it?
Phil Catchpole will be joined by debutant summariser David Watkin behind the microphone for live commentary on Chairboys Player, bringing you every kick from 2.55pm. Make sure you subscribe to Player ahead of kick-off, and remember your login details also work on the Football League smarthphone app, enabling you to listen on the move.

Fancy a flutter?
Place a bet with Sky Bet and enter the chance to win £5,000 for yourself and £250,000 for the club's transfer fund thanks to their new promotion - click here for more details.

Wanderers are 6/4 to collect all three points, with odds of 7/1 to score inside the first 10 minutes, and a tempting 9/2 for Peter Murphy to score at any time.
