Wood: Super support can spur us on

16 September 2013

Sam Wood says a bumper crowd will push the Blues on at the weekend as they look for a fifth consecutive victory.

Wood & co return to Adams Park for the first time since backing up their home win over Southend United with away successes at Exeter City, Hartlepool United and Plymouth Argyle.
“The fans have been fantastic this season,” Wood told Chairboys Player. “The ones that have come to the last three away games have been brilliant.

“We’ve produced the goods for them so it’s made for good journeys home I’m sure.

“Hopefully the more we win, the more will come and watch us. The bigger the crowd, the more special it is for us. We enjoy playing in front of as many people as possible as the atmosphere is lifted.”

Blues boss Gareth Ainsworth said: “They’ve been amazing. It’s something special to see them and there’s more and more coming.

“The ones that are always there know what they mean to me, but it’s great to see new fans coming.

“The York tickets are going well so get down to Adams Park and get behind the team.”

The game is the closest fixture to the anniversary of Wycombe’s first ever game on Monday 24th September 1887, and there's plenty going on off the pitch as well as on to make it a day to remember.

As well as the opportunity to dine with legendary players, fans will be able to have their photo taken with one of the club’s most famous trophies.

A signed 2013/14 shirt will also be presented to the supporter who shows off the oldest Wanderers replica shirt on the day.

For the kids, the inflatable football pitch will be in action, while a face painter will be on hand to enhance the matchday experience. Both of these activities will be free of charge.

A family of four (two adults, one junior and one child) can sit in the Family Stand for just £30, while individual tickets start from just £7 for juniors, £11 for young adults, £13 for seniors and £17 for adults. Children are FREE, while Blues Card members are entitled to a £2 discount on each ticket.
