Morgs: Together we’re a force

20 September 2013

You’d be hard pushed to find a player enjoying their football quite as much as Dean Morgan is at the moment.

Morgs has played a pivotal role as the Blues have gone five games unbeaten with the in-form forward scoring four goals in his last three appearances.
“I’ve had a conversation with Dobbo and we’ve got a goal target and I’m on for that at the minute,” he told Chairboys Player.

“For the team, it’s great. I said at the end of last year that this year would be special and it’s started really well so hopefully it continues.

“I’m thoroughly enjoying my football. Everyone knows what kind of a character I am and I always try and do my best for the team.

“If I’m not running around, laughing and smiling, I’m not really enjoying myself. That’s the character I am, I need to be enjoying it or it becomes frustrating and people can see my frustration.

“But I believe so much in myself and the team - together I think we can be such a big force.”

The 29-year-old scored the second in last weekend’s 3-0 win at Plymouth Argyle – a goal and a day that the former Chesterfield man will cherish.

He said: “In the dressing room after the game and on the coach, the atmosphere was amazing.

“To go through what I went through with (John) Sheridan, my whole team had my back and that was a proud moment for me. I class them as brothers, as family. For me, that day, was amazing.”

Morgs concluded by insisting the Chairboys will not take their foot off the pedal as they welcome second-bottom York City to Adams Park on Saturday.

He said: “The atmosphere here and our confidence should be higher because we’re above them, but that doesn’t mean we are going to think it doesn’t matter and we’re going to win regardless of the situation.

“We are all focused and we know what we’ve got to do.”
