Saturday’s match-winner Steven Craig says the three points were more important than his debut goal for the Blues.
“Like every manager, all you want is a chance and he’s given me mine. I’m pleased to repay him with my first goal.”
“As for Gaz, he’s a kind of manager you would run through brick walls for. He’s similar to Terry Butcher, who was my manager at Motherwell.
He said: “The lads have been excellent with me. There’s been a bit of banter with me being Scottish and my accent – they apparently can’t understand what I’m saying!
The 32-year-old saved special mentions for his team-mates and Gareth Ainsworth when he spoke in his post match interview.
“I’m just delighted we took the points. I’m enjoying every minute of it and I’m glad I came down.”
He said: “It was great. It’s a bonus being a winning goal and I hope it’s the first of many, but the result is more important to me than my personal performance.
The Scot struck in the 32nd minute to seal the 2-1 success over Southend United at Adams Park.
