Thanks to the 556!

23 October 2013

Gareth Ainsworth and Matt Bloomfield were quick to praise the travelling contingent for their support at Portsmouth.

Bloomfield added:

“We share everything - we’re ‘One Wycombe’ and we go again as ‘One Wycombe’.

“We made an effort to come out and clap them because we knew what they’d been through.

Ainsworth told Chairboys Player: “All I can say is a huge, huge thank you to the fans who travelled. You made yourselves heard and offered great noise.

The 556 fans were rewarded for their superb backing with a show of appreciation from the squad after the game was abandoned at half-time due to the treacherous conditions.
“They had a bit of a wet drive home so hopefully everyone got back safely.

“They were absolutely brilliant. The support behind the goal was so loud - it was great. I’d like to thank them for coming down to support us.
“That’s why we wanted to come out like we did at half-time to thank them for travelling down here.

“We really appreciate it and there’s a good feeling around the place at the minute. The supporters and players are as close together as I’ve known it.

“We need to take that performance and hopefully put on a show for them on Saturday and give then something to cheer about.”
