Gareth Ainsworth is hopeful of welcoming back Paris Cowan-Hall to his squad for this weekend’s game against Burton Albion, but Steven Craig remains very doubtful.
Cowan-Hall made his return in the Berks and Bucks Cup against Chalfont St Peter last week after being sidelined since suffering a knee medial ligament injury against Mansfield in August, while Craig has missed the last two games through a viral infection.
Ainsworth told Chairboys Player: “Paris is looking sharp in training and I think the peoplewho saw him at Chalfont last week will admit that he’s an asset to the club.
“I brought him here for the attacking prowess he provides. He can play out wide on either side or up front and he’s a great talent. He’s very quick and will score goals.
“Paris Cowan-Hall is part of my Wycombe squad every day and he will probably feature in the 18-man squad this weekend.”
Ainsworth said of Craig: “An illness is going to drain you at any stage, but to be ill for a week or 10 days means he’s severely weakened.
“He’s lost quite a bit of weight, but Stevie will be back. I can’t have him back 60/70% and he came back to train last week which probably set him back a couple of days.
“When Stevie Craig’s back, he’ll be back, but he’s a big loss. He’s a big player for us and has done really well in the games that he’s figured in so far.”
