Jo Kuffour says he has rediscovered his passion for football. The 31-year-old endured a difficult start to life at Adams Park after joining in August 2012, but has scored twice in his last four games, including one against former side Torquay United last Saturday.
“I’ve got my love back again from a few years ago – it’s a great club here!”, Kuffour told Chairboys Player.
“I didn’t play much last season and I’ve had a proper pre-season this year, I’m feeling the benefits of that already and long may it continue.”
Kuffour almost didn’t make the 3-2 victory over Torquay after suffering from illness, but declared himself fit enough to start and played a major role as Gareth Ainsworth’s men picked up a second successive victory.
He added: “It’s my first day back training today (Thursday), but I’m feeling alright. I had a bit of a cold and flu-like symptoms, but I feel OK now and I’m ready to train.
“I felt run down on the Friday and was a bit weak, but I thought ‘let’s see how I feel on Saturday morning’. I woke up and had a headache and my neck felt heavy and my body weak, but I just wanted to play.
“It’s another opportunity to get games, which I need to do. Luckily for me I got a goal and we got a win, so it was a good decision.
“If I’m physically able to play then I will. Gaz asked me if I was alright and I felt OK to start the game.”
