Josh Scowen says he is revelling in the added responsibility that has come since Gareth Ainsworth changed formation.Last season’s Supporters’ Player of the Year has excelled since his return from injury five games ago and has played a major role as the Blues have won three of their last four.
“I like it because I get to see a lot of the ball,” Scowen told Chairboys Player.
“I get to start moves off, but I also get to do my usual game, running about and putting tackles in.
“I think I can play a bit as well, I’m not just something who flies around a bit and puts tackles in. I really enjoy playing in there.”
Blues are on the road on Saturday when they make the long trip to Accrington Stanley, and Scowen is confident the Chairboys will respond to last weekend’s setback against Bury.
“It was a tough game last Saturday, especially after we went down to 10 men. It’s about staying positive and we’ll go again looking for the three points.
“We seem to respond most times after we lose, but hopefully the losing won’t happen too often. We’ll be looking to bounce back and come home with the three points.
“Last year we went there when we were a very young team and we won. We went down to 10 men in the second half and kept a clean sheet, that’ll give the boys a boost.”
Scowen is 16/1 to open the scoring at the Crown Ground with Sky Bet.
