Gaz keeps cards close to his chest

15 November 2013

Gareth Ainsworth was coy when asked about his team selection for Saturday’s visit of Cheltenham Town.

.here Fancy Blooms to break the deadlock against the Robins? Back the midfielder at 22/1

“It’ll be a tough game but, as always, one I believe we can win.”

“I’m hoping whoever I pick will be part of a winning team and that there will be more jumping around on the sidelines rather than collapsing!

“Those who aren’t in the squad, they’ll have to get behind the boys who are and that’s the way we are here.

The 40-year-old added: “Everyone who has played in the last few games will definitely have a chance of being in the 18.

“Now it’s a blank canvas. Everyone is fit apart from Jon-Paul Pittman who might be struggling, while Matty McClure and Paris will be assessed.”

He told Chairboys Player: “On Tuesday in the JPT I had to play the majority of the starting XI from last Saturday – there’s rules.

The 40-year-old is also boosted by the return of all-action midfielder Matt Bloomfield, who has served a three-game ban for his red card against Bury.

Ainsworth has a virtually fully-fit squad to choose from with Matt McClure (head), Paris Cowan-Hall (calf) and Jon-Paul Pittman (rolled ankle) his only injury concerns.
