Gaz: 'Great to see him get 90'

Chairboys chief Gareth Ainsworth was buoyed by seeing Matt Bloomfield complete his first full competitive game in 15 months on Tuesday.

“He was one of the ones who had some good chances and, like I say, on another night we would have scored a hatful and hopefully that other night can come very soon.”

“I just said, ‘patience Blooms, you will feature. You’re part of my squad, part of my plans’.

“He’s a real professional, but he obviously wants to know what he can do better to get into the team.

“He’s been waiting patiently for his chance - he’s not one who mopes about if he’s not in the team.

“I thought Matty did really well and it was great to see him complete 90 minutes,” Ainsworth told Chairboys Player.

The midfield stalwart’s previous 90 minutes came against Watford in the Capital One Cup last August, and the 29-year-old impressed as the Blues were held to a 1-1 draw by Exeter City.
