Richard Dobson says revenge is on the mind of the Chairboys squad as they prepare to face Crewe Alexandra for the second successive season in the FA Cup first round.
The Railwaymen comfortably knocked the Wanderers out of the competition 12 months ago, but Dobson believes the Blues are a different proposition this time around.
“I was actually really pleased with the draw!” Dobson told Chairboys Player.
“I didn’t enjoy last year, circumstances were against us and we lost two players very early on. We were struggling with injuries at that stage so I didn’t enjoy watching them passing the ball around with ease, as they did, and score four goals against us.
“I’m looking forward to the weekend and I think it will be a very different proposition to the one they faced last year.
“Hopefully there is a little bit of arrogance in them as they beat us 4-1 last year and they’ll think they’re capable of doing it again.
“I want to get at them because we’ve had some good performances against the likes of Leicester and Bristol City, who are higher-placed teams, and it’s one that we’ll relish.”
Speaking after Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Slough Town, Dobson added: “Games like tonight are good to keep people ticking over and getting minutes under their belt.
“We said to the boys that these games are important and you’ve got to put yourself in the frame. If you’re out of the side for a little while like or two of them are or you’re just coming back from injury or illness then it’s important that you put a show on.
“You’re always being judged in football, every day that you come in for training and every time that you play. Tonight was no different and we did ourselves a lot of credit.”
