“I speak to Gaz and Dobbo a lot too and they’ve been a massive help.”
“Kevin Ball, the under 21s manager at Sunderland, talks to me but he mainly lets me get on with it because a loan is an experience and you need to get out there in the big wide world!
He said: “You move around on loan when you’re at a bigger club, but it’s been a good experience from day one. There’s a lot of young lads with a mix of experience and it’s good to be around the team.
Knott’s stint at Wycombe is the third loan spell of his career and the former AFC Wimbledon and Woking man says the system is helping his development as a player.
He added: “We need to get some wins on the board but we’re not far off it. A win’s just around the corner and when we get one, we’ll get a couple.”
“They’re a good club, well organised and have been doing well lately, but hopefully we can go there – we’ve been better away from home – a get a good result. We are just as good as anyone in this league on our day.”
“It’s my birthday week too so quite a few of my family from Canvey are coming.
He said: “It’s a hard place to go and it’s a local one for me – I’m really looking forward to it.
The Sunderland loanee, who extended his stay at the club until the end of January on Thursday, will be backed by his family as the Blues look for their first win in six league games.
