Max up for the challenge

30 May 2013

Max Kretzschmar says he would be keen to follow in the footsteps of some of his Wanderers team-mates and experience life out on loan if the chance arose.

The 19-year-old has seen first-hand how playing regular football has helped some of the younger members of the Chairboys squad, and he is looking forward to the challenge if Gareth Ainsworth decides to loan him out.

He said: “I’ve seen Lee Angol, Junior, Jesse and Josh all do it and you can see how much its benefited them when they’ve returned.

“We’ll see what Gaz wants me to do and whether he wants me to go on loan early next season, but I’d definitely be up for the challenge.”

When asked to describe his style of play, Kretzschmar said: “I’m not the same as Jesse or Josh although we’re quite similar in terms of stature. I’m a bit higher up the pitch, looking to score more goals.

“I’m not as much of a tackler or ball-winner as Josh, but I’m a technical player in an attacking midfield role.”
