Kretzschmar keen to repay Dobson

29 May 2013

Max Kretzschmar says he wants to repay the faith that assistant manager Richard Dobson has shown in him by breaking into the first team squad this season.

The 19-year-old agreed a new one-year contract with the Chairboys last week and was quick to praise just how big a role Dobson has played in his development.

“I’ve been physically quite small for most of my career and he’s always said 'we know you’ve got the technical ability and we’ll wait for you',” Kretzschmar told Chairboys Player.

“He’s kept his promises so I want to repay his faith and make some appearances this season.”

The attacking midfielder also revealed that that working under boss Gareth Ainsworth has left a big impression on him.

He added: “Gaz is brilliant. His enthusiasm on the training ground, on the pitch, every day, every morning is unbelievable.

“It’s impossible for it not to rub off on you so hopefully it’ll make me a better player and make me want it even more.”
