Young Lions light up Adams Park

21 March 2013

A crowd of 6,354 saw England U21s produce an exciting display to run out comfortable 3-0 winners over Romania U21s at Adams Park on Thursday evening.

Attendance: 6,354

England U21s: Butland (Steele), Clyne (Smith), Rose (Robinson), Chalobah (Lowe), Wisdom, Dawson, Lansbury (Delfouneso), Henderson (Carroll), Zaha (Wickham), Shelvey, Sterling (Sordell).

Nathan Delfouneso completed the scoring with two minutes left on the clock, turning home another Shelvey cross at the back post.

It was 2-0 just past the hour mark when Jonjo Shelvey picked out substitute Jack Robinson, who converted from close range courtesy of a left-footed strike.

Manchester United’s Wilfried Zaha gave Stuart Pearce’s men the lead in superb style on 33 minutes, curling an effort into the top corner from the edge of the 18-yard box after skipping past a couple of defenders.
