Gareth Ainsworth says Saturday’s opponents Fleetwood Town will be a completely different proposition to the side that the Wanderers beat back in October.
Bruno Andrade scored the only goal at Highbury Stadium in one of Ainsworth’s games in caretaker charge of the Chairboys.
“They’ll be different because Graham Alexander has taken over,” Blues' boss told Chairboys Player.
“He’s an old friend of mine and we played together at Preston down the right-hand side.
“He’ll have them up for it. Graham’s a very proud man and was one hell of a player. He played a lot of games and has a lot of experience.
“We’re both sort of a new generation of manager coming through and it will be a good battle.
“I know bits about Fleetwood and I’ve had people watching them. I know what we’ll come up against and they have some good players in their team.
“They’re up in the play-off region for a reason, so it will be a good scalp. Hopefully we can get a few fans down here to get behind us and that we play our entertaining, attacking football.”
Ainsworth played the majority of the second half at Torquay on Tuesday and had a real influence on the game, having a hand in both of Wycombe’s goals.
And when asked if he was considering playing against the Cod Army he replied: “I’ll have to have a word with myself!”
Ainsworth added: “It was great to come on and I really did think, even before Joel got his kick, that I could make a difference in the game.
“It was a tough night, a cold night and a windy night and I felt I could go on and make something happen.
“It worked out well, but that doesn’t always happen. I was well pleased and I felt the buzz out there and felt that the lads were there for me as a footballer, not just a manager. They were there tackling and heading for me and every time I was challenging they were there around me.
“It was brilliant being involved in what I’ve tried to create.”
