Gaz: Come and see what we can do

28 March 2013

Gareth Ainsworth says his squad are like ‘coiled springs’ as they are so determined to entertain the Wanderers faithful in Friday’s Talk of the Town game with Accrington Stanley (k.o 3pm)

Blues will have been without a game for 10 days following last Saturday’s postponement at Burton Albion and Ainsworth believes his squad are raring to go.

“The lads are eager and are like coiled springs ready for it,” Blues’ boss told Chairboys Player. “They want the game and are desperate to get out there and play.

“It’s my job now to make sure they are not too hyped up and when that whistle goes on Friday they are ready for the game that they’ve been waiting for.

“The word professional comes in and we’ll stick to the plans we’ve set.”

Members of the Chairboys squad were in High Wycombe town centre on Wednesday afternoon and will be back there again this afternoon (Thursday) to meet supporters.

Ainsworth added: “The players being down in the town will hopefully create a bit of a buzz as its their players and their team.

“It’s a big push now to get people down to this Talk of the Town game. We know you’re there, we’ve seen you before and we want to get you back.

“We’ve worked really hard to get where we’re at, but we haven’t completed the job yet. There’s still time for people to get down and see us complete the job of surviving in League 2 and hopefully kicking on next year.

“I need every help I can get and every person coming through the turnstile is a big help for me, so get down, it would be great to see you.”

Prices have been reduced for the game with adult tickets just £10, concessions £5 and U7s FREE -buy , onlinefrom the ticket office on 01494 441118 or in person from the Eden Store or the Information Centre at Adams Park.
