Adams Park stop 78 for Scott!

14 March 2013

Wanderers welcomed Scott McLachlan to Adams Park on Tuesday as he notched up ground 78 of the 92 professional clubs.

I wanted an adventure and a challenge. Being a football fan I have friends who do a lot of matches - one has done over 350 matches worldwide - and that inspired me to do my bit and finish off the 92. As to why he took on the mammoth trek, he replied: "

e said: “I had a really good day at Wycombe. I had a look around the stadium, the manager had a few nice words with me before signing my flag and I received a momento, so it’s been great." H

The 44-year-old, who is on the Pompey Supporters’ Trust board, was a guest of the club for the clash with Rotherham, given a tour of the stadium and met manager Gareth Ainsworth and Matt Bloomfield, who presented him with a signed pennant pre-match.

the Football League’s Official Charity Partner. McLachlan is walking the length and breadth of the country to raise awareness and money for Prostate Cancer UK,
"When I looked to discover if anybody had walked it I couldn't actually find anyone in my research. I contacted the Guinness Book of Records and they didn't have a record of anybody walking to all of the grounds in one season, so once I started looking it seemed doable and it took off from there."

He added: "Men's health isn't very well championed and it's a very nasty type of cancer. Using sport, especially football, to get men self aware about quite an aggressive cancer is the best way to do it."

Scott is hoping to raise £9,200 and you can support his mammoth effort at www.justgiving.com/walkthe92.
