Gareth Ainsworth is out to put his points across from the get-go as he readies himself for his first pre-season as a manager.
“I’ll be looking at the lads and making sure they are ready to play. I’ve missed it and I’m really looking forward to it.”
He added: “I didn’t do too much running last season under Gary, but I won’t be doing any at all this time around!
“Hopefully we can take the end of last season into the start of this and hit the ground running with a good pre-season under our belts.”
“It’s not going to be easy – it never is – but the spirit we’ve got is great.
“Fitness has been a big thing throughout my career and I’ll be making sure the lads are ready.
“It’s a big time of the season,” he told wwfc.com. “It’s when you get all your philosophies in place and the way you want to do things. The fitness is also very important.
Ainsworth impressed after being appointed as Blues boss in November, but Tuesday will see the 40-year-old take the opening session ahead of the 2013/14 campaign.
