He added: “I just want a pre-season and the fitness it brings under my belt so I’m ready for the first game of the season.”

“I’ve come in today and everything was normal, a few of the lads were even happy to see me!”

“It was quite a drawn-out process but it’s all sorted and it’s nice to be back,” the Grenada international told Chairboys Player.

The 32-year-old centre-back can also boast two promotions during his six-year spell at Adams Park - in 2008/09 and 2010/11.

Johnson has made 170 appearances for the Chairboys since arriving from Gillingham in 2007 and won the Supporters’ Player of the Year award in his first season.
