“Against my former club and with about 30 of my family and friends in the boxes, it really was a great day, one I will treasure for a long time.”
He added: “It wasn’t the prettiest game to watch, but who really cares?! It’s three points and on a day like this with the conditions as they were, it’s a massive three points for us.
“We’d like to dedicate the win to those fans, the staff and everyone who helped around the club to get game on – a great achievement.”
“Gaz said there were fans here from early morning helping to clear the snow and that togetherness and dedication is brilliant. As a player, to get the game on, get the three points and move up the league is huge.
“This is coming from all of the boys, we would like to say a massive thank you to the fans,” Lewis told Chairboys Player.
After fans, staff and stewards worked tirelessly to get the game on, man-of-the-match Lewis and his team-mates earned a 1-0 win over his former club Dagenham & Redbridge in front of 30 of his family and friends.
