Matt Ingram continued his fine form on loan at Oxford City with an injury-time penalty save as his side beat Brackley Town 2-1 on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old has kept five clean sheets so far during his spell with the Blue Square North side and also saved a penalty when a Wycombe XI lost 1-0 to a Chelsea U21 team two weeks ago.
Assistant manager Richard Dobson said: “Matty’s come on a bundle and we’re really pleased with him. The loan spell has been good and productive for him, he’s playing well and the reports we’ve had are that they are over the moon with him.
“Seeing Jordan (Archer) come in just a year older than him has really put the bit between his teeth. I think he realises that he can really challenge for that No.1 jersey now.
“We’re hopeful that next season he could become our No.1 providing he carries on doing what he’s been doing.”
Ingram, who last week extended his loan deal with Oxford City until the end of the season, is next in action on Saturday when City host Vauxhall Motors.
