Matt McClure and Bruno Andrade are winning their battles to be fit for this weekend’s visit of Southend United.
“A fit Matty McClure will always be in my 18.”
“He’s healed quite well and he’s down to be back in training today. I’ll have a look at him and decide whether he’s goes in the team or the squad, but Matty’s a big plus for us.
“I thought I’d lost my top scorer, but it’s not as bad as first feared although it is black and blue. It wasn’t just an injury we could give him some stick about – I think he kicked the bottom of someone’s foot.
“Bruno’s a young lad and he’ll heal quickly with his ankle injury. Matt was a big worry on Saturday because he said to me on the pitch ‘Gaz, I think I’ve broken my toe’.
“They are both very close,” Gareth Ainsworth told Chairboys Player. “It’ll be a big plus if they both are training.
McClure was withdrawn late on in last Saturday’s clash at Bristol Rovers with a toe complaint, while Andrade picked up an ankle problem against Bradford City the previous Tuesday.
