Jon-Paul Pittman (ankle) has started running again outside, but Matt Bloomfield is a doubt for the clash on the south coast with a calf problem, while fellow midfielder Sebastian Cann-Svard has contracted the same illness that ruled Knott out.

There’s more good news as Kortney Hause (ankle) and Jo Kuffour (thigh) resumed full training on Monday.

Sam Wood (tight groin) and Billy Knott (illness) missed the defeat at Dagenham but are training today (Tuesday) with a view to being involved at Fratton Park.

Steven Craig is available for selection after coming off on Saturday following a dislocated shoulder.
