Sam Wood says Wanderers fans could make the difference when the Chairboys return to Sky Bet League 2 action on Saturday against Morecambe (3pm).
Blues have enjoyed a successful pre-season, winning four times and giving Premier League side Aston Villa a real scare before Paul Lambert’s side eventually secured a 2-2 draw.
And with the new league campaign less than 24 hours away, the winger believes that having a vocal support inside Adams Park will help Gareth Ainsworth’s men make the most of home advantage.
“It would be a massive help (having a large crowd),” Wood told Chairboys Player.
“I think it’s going to be a nice day so hopefully we can get lots of people down and have a big crowd.

Wanderers were last in league action over three months ago when Port Vale visited South Bucks and Wood says he and the rest of the squad are itching to get back to competitive action.
He said: “We had bit of time off and all the hard work has been done in pre-season. We now need to take that hard work into the first game and I’m looking forward to getting back out there, hopefully playing and getting the season underway.
“Everyone’s been working because everyone wants to start on that first day of the season. We’re all looking forward to it and there’s a real buzz around the ground and the training ground.”
Wood added: “Pre-season has been tough, as it always is, but it’s been different as well with the swimming in the outdoor pool and the rowing.
“Every pre-season has the standard running, but it was nice to do something different and the rowing was great for the team.
“Gaz is all about team spirit and he thought the rowing would help, and it did. When you’re in the boats you need the teamwork to row together and that definitely helped bring the lads together.”
