Gareth Ainsworth believes Billy Knott will only get better the more he plays for the Wanderers. The 20-year-old joined on a month's loan from Premier League side Sunderland last week and excelled on his debut as the Blues pushed league leaders Oxford United all the way on Saturday.
The midfielder set up the Chairboys’ first goal with a clever flick, before covering every blade of grass to endear himself to the travelling faithful.
Ainsworth said: “Billy has got things that I like in football. He’s high-intensity, high-energy, likes to press and likes to tackle.
“He’s also got quality on the ball and has a wand of a left foot.
“That’s just the start of what Billy can give to Wycombe Wanderers.
“He definitely adds to the squad and the energetic way that we have - I can only see him getting better and better the more he settles in.”
Knott could be in line for his home debut when Southend United visit Adams Park on Saturday.
