Matt Bloomfield made his long-awaited comeback in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Maidenhead United on Tuesday evening.
Wanderers: Horlock, Arnold, Hause, Fletcher, Doherty, Kewley-Graham (Trialist 70), Bloomfield (Trialist 45), Kretzschmar, Morias, Angol, McClure.
Reading loanee Nick Arnold completed a fine move and the scoring with three minutes left on the clock, curling an effort in the bottom right-hand corner from 15 yards.
His bullet header followed a brace from Lee Angol, who coolly slotted under the keeper on 40 minutes before firing home from 12 yards at the second attempt shortly after the re-start.
The latter scored one of five goals for the Wanderers in a comfortable 5-0 victory at the club’s training ground.
There was more good news for Gareth Ainsworth, who saw Gary Doherty and Matt McClure get 90 minutes under their belts.
The all-action midfielder played a half on his first outing since being diagnosed with pelvic shear last August.
