Boss has fingers crossed for frontmen

4 April 2013

Gareth Ainsworth is hoping to have forwards Dean Morgan and Matt McClure available again for Saturday’s M40 derby with Oxford United.

“I won’t rule either of them out yet, but there’s plenty of competition for places and I’ll see what I can take to Oxford.”

“As for Matt McClure, he will say if he’s ready or not, but they are both pretty close.

“He loves football, loves being out there and just wants to play. We’ll have to see with him.

“They are very close, both of them,” Ainsworth told Chairboys Player. “Dean will say he’s ready to train today (Thursday) which is Dean through and through! He’s great to have around the place and he’s 18 at heart.

Morgan, who had a loan spell at the Kassam Stadium early last year, and McClure both missed Easter Monday’s win at Morecambe with hamstring complaints.
