Gareth Ainsworth hailed the collective spirit at Wycombe Wanderers after the 1-0 win over rivals Oxford United.
The 39-year-old added: “Thank you to all of the fans who came, you sang your hearts out and it was brilliant to hear.”
“They responded and we are one Wycombe at the moment. It was a great day."
“They’ve raised a fantastic amount of money and I made the players aware of their efforts before the game.
He said: “It’s been a crazy 24 hours. Me, Lee and Dobbo went to Port Vale-Burton and then saw off the 14 fans who walked to Oxford. That just shows the spirit we’ve got at the club.
Ainsworth was at Adams Park late on Friday night to see off the 14 supporters who walked to the Kassam Stadium to raise funds for the club, before seeing his side supported by a further 1,118 fans as the Blues recorded back-to-back wins.
