Josh Scowen said he is fulfilling his dream by playing first-team football for Wycombe.
The 19-year-old has made a big impact since making his first start against Dagenham & Redbridge 10 days ago and scored the winner against Torquay United on Saturday, heading in Dean Morgan’s perfectly-flighted cross.
“It feels unbelievable,” Scowen told Chairboys Player. “It was a great performance from the boys and it was nice to pop up with the goal at the end.
“To be picked as man of the match and score the winning goal feels amazing.
“It was a great ball and a great bit of skill to get into that area. He did all the hard work and I just put it in the net.
“It’s (playing professionally) the best thing in my life and is what I’ve wanted to do ever since I was small. I’ve always wanted to be a footballer and my dream is coming true.”
Wanderers were backed once again by a vocal support at Adams Park and Scowen had a special mention for the home fans.
He added: “They were unbelievable again. On Tuesday (against Plymouth) they were unbelievable but they were even better. They got right behind us and kept on going for 90 minutes.
“The win should boost our confidence going into the Portsmouth game. It will lift our morale up, get us going and get the season started.”
