Danny Foster says the Blues must build on their magnificent 3-1 win at Portsmouth in midweek when they travel to Fleetwood Town on Saturday.
He said: “I found out before going out for the warm-up. I was proud to lead the team and it was a great result. I’ll enjoy this night; it’ll be one I remember.”
Gareth Ainsworth handed Foster the armband for the clash at Fratton Park and the 27-year-old was honoured to be given the extra responsibility.
“It’s been a big push from everyone. Hats off to Gaz, he’s got the boys working really hard and it’s paying off.
“It’s been a real a squad effort in the last couple of games,” he said. “The fans have been outstanding as well and got right behind us.
Foster & co produced a sterling display to progress to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Southern section quarter-final and back up the 2-1 win over Torquay United in the league.
