McClure: The goals will come

20 November 2012

Matt McClure says the goals will come for Wycombe if they keep on creating chances.

Wanderers had more shots than their opponents in the last two games, but their profligacy in front of goal ended up costing them as they slipped to defeats against Rochdale and Northampton Town.

“We had enough chances (against Northampton) but didn’t take them,” McClure told Chairboys Player. “We just need to start knuckling down on our finishes and we’ll be alright.

“We’re working hard. We’re grafting our socks off and we’re confident that we can turn the corner.

“We got the penalty and had a few good chances before and even after with my header when I should have hit the target at least. I’m sure when we get a few a goals the shots will start flying in.

“You start worrying when you don’t create any chances and are losing games. We created a lot, but didn’t take them, hopefully we can take them on Tuesday (against Rotherham United).”
