Joel Grant has clinched the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy second round Ultimate Finish Award, beating nine other shortlisted goals to clinch 33% of the public vote.
Grant opened the scoring after just 13 seconds of the 3-1 win at League 1 Portsmouth, cutting in from the left and curling a sublime 20-yard effort into the top right-hand corner.
“I’m delighted with the award,” he told wwfc.com. “Personal recognition is nice but it was a fantastic all-round team performance. It was a great night for the club.”
Wanderers fan Samantha Reid, who voted for Grant’s goal, was drawn at random to win an iPod Nano.
Paul Farrell, sponsorship manager for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, said: “Our congratulations go to Joel Grant and Wycombe Wanderers for clinching the Ultimate Finish Award and the Team of the Round award for round two.
“They produced some scintillating football to progress through to the area quarter-finals and Joel’s goal is a perfect representation of that.”
Thanks to everyone who voted for Joel!
