Second Premier League test

19 July 2012

Wanderers will host Premier League side QPR in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday 31st July (k.o 7.30pm).

The game finalises the pre-season plans with the Blues also playing Fulham (28th July) and Brentford (7th August) at Adams Park.

Boss Mark Hughes is expected to field a strong side and he can also call upon former Wycombe loanee Angelo Balanta, who scored three times during a short spell at Adams Park in the 2008/09 season.

QPR have been very active in the transfer market ahead of the new season, recruiting Park Ji-Sung, Rob Green, Andy Johnson, Ryan Nelson and Fabio, as well as the securing the permanent signature of Samba Diakite.

Gaz made close to 150 appearances during seven unforgettable years at Rangers and also had two spells as caretaker manager during the eventful days of Flavio Briatore's reign.

Player/coach Gareth Ainsworth joined the Chairboys on loan from QPR in November 2009 before making the move permanent the following January.

Wycombe and the west London outfit have close links with Blues boss Gary Waddock a fans' favourite at Loftus Road, having come through the R's youth set-up before playing more than 200 times and then managing the side.
