Wanderers trained at Cox Green School, Maidenhead, today (Thursday) after the pitches at the club’s training ground were deemed unplayable due to the freezing weather.Boss Gareth Ainsworth was able to take advantage of the 3G surfaces at the school and put his squad through their paces ahead of Saturday's trip to Accrington Stanley.
"We were well prepared for this and arranged it on Tuesday, as a just-in-case matter," Ainsworth told Chairboys Player.
"Luckily it’s paid off as the training ground is absolutely frozen solid, as I think most of the country is today.
"We planned this and will get as good a session as we can on here. I think the weather is thawing out in the next couple of days so the game should be on.
"It’s all about organisation and being prepared. I’m really pleased we could get something done today and it’s all about getting the lads’ legs going. Tomorrow we'll get the main things done.
"It’s been a bit different and I’m sure there would have been some complaining, but that’s football!"
