Gary Waddock has challenged his side to build on their performances at Watford and York City when they travel to Southend United on Saturday (k.o 3pm).
Wanderers have been impressive on the road this season, taking Championship outfit Watford to extra-time in the Capital One Cup and then beating newly-promoted York 3-1 in the opening game of the league campaign.
Disappointing home displays against Gillingham and Bristol Rovers have since followed, but Waddock has called on his team to rediscover their form.
“We just have to build on the York performance,” Waddock told Chairboys Player.
“Away from home we got a good positive result and we have to take that into Southend. No-one was pleased with the Bristol Rovers game because of the scoreline and that has been put to bed.
“It’s always difficult going to Southend. Every single game we go into and every meeting we have before a match we say 'get off to a good start and have a high tempo'. At the moment that hasn’t happened. We have to try and put that right, but we have to make sure we are solid as well.
“The formation that we used up at York worked to a tee because we got the result and it only works if you get that result. It doesn’t matter what formation or system you play, the players have to perform.”
