Wanderers have signed Watford defender Adam Thompson on a one-month youth loan.
Northern Ireland, Capped at U17, U19, U21 and senior level for Thompson has appeared 12 times in the Championship side’s first team, including playing the full 90 minutes in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup clash with Bradford City.
The 19-year-old, who can play at right-back and centre-back, also has experience of playing in League 1, excelling during a 22-game loan spell at Brentford last season.
Gary Waddock told wwfc.com: “He’s been on our radar for quite some time now and we’re delighted we’ve been able to bring him to the club.
“He’s got international experience, played in the Championship and in League 1. We also watched him on Tuesday night and he played very well.
“We needed a right-back with Marvin McCoy injured and Danny Foster returning to fitness and Adam fits that bill perfectly.”
Thompson will train with his new team-mates for the first time today (Thursday) and could make his debut at Southend United on Saturday.
