Talented defender who rejoined the club in the summer of 2015 after a year away.

Stewart was rewarded with his first professional contract in 2011 after a string of excellent performances for the club’s Under 18s, guiding them to victory in the Youth Alliance Cup. He made his professional debut in the 3-2 defeat at Preston North End in January 2012 and developed a knack for scoring important goals, playing his part in the club's survival from relegation in 2014.

The defender left the club that summer and played 10 times for Crewe Alexandra last season before returning to Adams Park in July on a two-year deal, scoring on his second debut in the 3-0 win over York City before missing three months through injury. The centre-half has formed a formidable partnership at the back with Aaron Pierre, maintaining a solid defensive record throughout the 2015/16 season, having the second lowest number of goals conceded in League 2.
