DOBBO BUOYED BY FLYING START

Posted on: Mon 19 Jul 2010
Wanderers' Under-18s have kicked off their pre-season schedule in style, winning three consecutive games and scoring 18 goals in the process.

The Blues beat Mandeville College 6-1 and followed it up with a 10-1 thumping of Ace Academy before seeing off a strong academy side from Crystal Palace on Friday morning, earning heavy praise from coach Richard Dobson:

"It's been an impressive start," he told wwfc.com. "The players have set a high standard and there's pressure on them to maintain that now. As a starting point it's been very promising."

The highlight of the campaign so far was a stunning 70-yard run and finish from centre-back Anthony Stewart in the 2-0 victory over Palace, while striker Lee Weemes has struck the net six times in three appearances.
