REPORT: BLUES HELD BY U'S

Posted on: Wed 12 May 2010
Wanderers' Under-18s side also drew 1-1 with rivals Colchester United on Saturday.

Richard Dobson's men dominated proceedings at Bisham Abbey but were unable to turn their chances into goals as they were held by the U's youngsters.

Despite creating a number of good openings, the Chairboys fell behind just after the break when a Colchester forward latched onto a long through ball and scored.

However, Wycombe were back on level terms just two minutes later thanks to Archie Lloyd. The visitors failed to clear a cross into the penalty area and there was Lloyd to fire home a volley from 15 yards out.

Midfielder Josh Scowen was among those who went close as Wycombe pressed for a winner but they couldn't find that elusive goal.

Boss Richard Dobson told wwfc.com: "It feels more like two points dropped than one point gained because we dominated the game.

"We lacked a finish to our approach play and we are disappointed not to have won the game."
